Question from sinita83
I’ve heard about a home-use laser for blasting spots away. Is it for real and does it work?

I think you mean the Zeno; it’s not a laser but it does deliver a low-level dose of heat - so yes, it’s a bona-fide spot-zapper. It has been developed by some people with good anti-spot credentials; the idea is that the heat causes p.acnes, the bacteria responsible for most spots, to self-destruct. It feels hot, but don’t worry it’s not hot enough to harm the skin (it wouldn’t be great if it killed off the spot but left you with a burn...) Does it work? An FDA-reviewed, controlled clinical trial reckons it does. In the trial, 90 per cent of the Zeno-treated spots faded or disappeared in 24 hours. And in the real world, my spotty tester tells me that yes, it did work for her, though it worked much better on spots that were only just forming, rather than on ones that had already grown into monsters with heads. £129 from www.myzenoeurope.com
