What about caviar? The Vegetarian Society has approved CAVI*ART, the vegetarian caviar alternative, produced by Finlay's of Manchester, as suitable for vegetarians. £4.99 for a 100gm jar, from www.findlayfoods.co.uk.

There's a book dedicated to this - get it on amazon. It's American and called "Vegan Seafood; Beyond the Fish Shtick for Vegetarians".
