gently, with your ring fingers, patting it onto the area around the eye. Don't drag or pull the skin (just helps stretch it/ make wrinkles) and don't bother putting any onto your eyelids -- it can make them puffy and in any case they usually pick up enough moisture from touching onto the upper eye area whenever they open.
