I've just bought some Jasper Conran jeans (on sale at Debenhams) - dark colour sit slightly below the waist but very flattering for a 5' 1" 61 year old size 10! Agree that 501's are also very good. Fit well but not as flattering as JCs!!

What about Donna IDA jeans from Draycott ave in Chelsea? I am hoping to get some when I go shopping in London in May. I live half the year in NZ and the other half in Italy. As I am just under 5' tall I am keen to get the right ones on a brief visit!

again I think that looking on www.brownsfashion.com is a good idea. Thankfully high waisted jeans have returned. I love the 18th Amendement ones, but Jil Sander did do the best high waisted jeans, and good old 501 Levis will never fail. Go for a straight leg, indigo (dark) dye and high waist and don't be scared off - jeans are not age elitist
