Question from Evie Leigh - swinging on a necklace
I am a student. I am also a lover of all things fashion and beauty-like. These two aspects seem to clash. Which foods out there will 1. keep my skin healthy and my waist trim, 2. not produce whimpers as i hand over my card at asda check-out and 3. last in the fridge long enough for me to eat it, and at the same time, delight my tastebuds and give me lots of energy for all my lectures. Am I searching for the impossible, here?

Puy Lentils, or Beluga lentils, lots of other pulses which are cheap, low GI and keep for a while. Fresh veg and good olive oil and vinegar. Add lots of fresh fruit and supplement with canned tomatoes, tuna fish, cheese. Try Waitrose at 3 p.m. on Sunday or 7 p.m. in the evening for bargains on the cheese and fish counters but eat them up quickly.
