The are a few good restaurants in Cornwall but there are an awful lot of really bad ones. I would go to Fifteen for the views and the breakfasts and without a doubt Tresanton for lunch (get a table outside). It is a bit like London-on-sea but all the better for it

You have to try the Tresanton Hotel restaurant, with its amazing view across to St Anthony's lighthouse (apparently the one used for Fraggle Rock). The food is superb, and sitting on the deck as the sun goes down is an event in itself. It's in St Mawes.
If you fancy something more trad and homely, the Victory Inn is a great old pub. Lots of people go to Cornwall for its food - and you may fancy travelling around a bit and ticking off some of the other top tables while you're in the county. Rick Stein's in Padstow and Fifteen in Newquay are both worth the trip. On a personal note, though, there are few better suppers than a hot Cornish Pastie, eaten on the cliffside with a cold beer. It's way cheaper too!
