Do you suit darker hair, or lighter hair?
You could try an all over semi-perm gloss(pehraps, golden brown, or dark blonde?) and a few golden/copperish highlights in your hair, so it won't be BLONDE but it won't be the other extreme and look too dark - being too dark or too blonde can wash you out if they're not right shades for your skin-tone. You may also regret it and it takes more effort to lighten the hair than to darken it. Do it gradually :)

If you want a really glossy high shine look like Michelle's then I think a good old vegetable dye is what you are looking for. A rich brown would also be much easier to manage and there are so many incredible colour -boosting shampoos and conditioners on the market that I really don't think you'd look back. Plus the re-growth would be less obvious and root-touch-ups not so much of a bother if you took your mousy hair darker.
